This was an especially fun shot to create with Clarissa Westmeyer .... one of the extremely creative photographers at Kalman and Pabst Photo Group ..... for Smucker's.

I love the overhead angle in a food shot, particularly when shooting something like doughnuts. The fun of a doughnut is in the round-ness and the punched out hole in the middle. These were freshly made with the help of my assistant, Claire Vredevoogd, and quite delicious!

Rice pudding. This photograph is one of many that will be included in a middle-eastern cookbook this year. It is great fun working on an editorial project such as this because my creativity is in full play. I was prop stylist for this project as well. It always seems as if a shot falls into place when I am able to pair the props with food because my mind has an idea what the food will look like. From there it a matter of 'fingers crossed' that my client has the same vision.
